Girls Shift Africa is the gender equality wing of YOUth Shift Africa, our young and innovative initiative which serves to break the cycle of poverty and dependency by upLifting, inSpiring and emPowering young people from
underprivileged backgrounds to be who they really are, express their unique gifts and full potential for personal, social and environmental innovation, and develop compassionate leadership and
peace building capacities which radically transform people, their communities and the world.
Girls Shift Africa was launched in 2012 by Fei-zy Waringa in collaboration with YOUth Shift Africa founders Naraya
Urban-Winterfeldt and Moses Aran Oindo aka Cvilizer from her desire to place special emphasis on the support and empowerment of girls and young women. It
does as yet not receive any outside funding and is entirely carried out on a volunteer basis.
